Marlborough family donates $2.5M to Special Olympics
Brian Stevens said there wasn’t too much thought given to his family’s decision to donate $2.5 million to the Special Olympics headquarters in Marlborough.
“We do it because we can,” he said yesterday at a ceremony at the Forest Street headquarters. “It’s a no-brainer — it helps the kids.”
Stevens, who was joined at the ceremony by his wife, Kathryn, and his children, Samantha and Brian, said it was an easy choice to make after seeing the joy on Samantha’s face during Special Olympics events in which she has participated.
